Alaska Grayling on Dry Flies

Arctic Grayling take dry flies all summer long.

If you enjoy light tackle and all-day-long surface action, it’s hard to beat grayling fishing in Alaska. These feisty and aggressive fish are often overlooked by their larger kin in Alaska – rainbow trout, dolly varden and all the various species of salmon, but they hit and feed with reckless abandon. And they’re usually not too picky.

So if you can let go of size (no snickering), grayling will quickly remind you why you got into fly fishing in the first place – because of the simple joy of catching fish on dry flies.
